A Cast Padding is a type of bandage used to provide cushioning and a layer of protection for a plastered wound. As the layer between the rigid cast and the body, comfort is important for the patient as the padding usually remains under the cast throughout the healing process. The padding provides a cushion between the limb and the fiberglass cast tape, which serves as the hard outer shell of the orthopedic cast. Cast padding is very effective and useful.
